Job Description

Oversee the preparation, cooking and presentation of meals • Managing and training any cooks working with you • Enforce strict health and hygiene standards in the kitchen. • To provide assistance to the Catering team with the daily running of the operation • Monitor portion and waste control to maintain profit margins • Maintain food costs as prescribed by the line manager • To ensure suitable profit margins throughout the operation via cost saving, stock levels and wastage controls • To ascertain short falls and to suggest resolutions to operational challenges • Be able to work in a team and have strong interpersonal skills, including the management of staff • Passionate, honest, reliable and a hard worker, willing to be involved in all aspects of the operation • Adherence to all standards and controls i.r.o. quality, hygiene and controls

Matric Required  Relevant Certifications Required

Candidate Skills

Min 3 years Previous experience in a similar environment • Menu planning and costing knowledge • Organised and comfortable working in a high pressure environment • Stock take experience • Experience in Function planning • Flexibility with regards to working hours • Able to work under pressure • Computer literate • Knowledge of Hygiene & Quality standards essential
