Job Description

Develop, implement and maintain SHEQ management plans. Formulate SHEQ standards for projects and comply with client/site specific requirements. Ensure that SHEQ policies, procedures, standards and methodologies are current and report non-compliance • Ensure that SHEQ management systems, processes, policies, procedures and resources are in place and adhered to. Interface with state and regulatory compliance agencies. Take full cognisance of applicable and relevant South African legislation and best practice principles in providing leadership on SHEQ activities. Ensure SHEQ governance is in place, including SHEQ management and performance. Provide technical support for process related environmental and quality management

Candidate Qualifications

BSc Chemical Engineering Degree. Applicants with National Diploma in Chemical Engineering and 10 years of relevant experience will also be considered. A National Diploma in Safety Management is also required. A BTech in Safety Management and/or a tertiary qualification in Quality management would be advantageous.

Candidate Skills

SAMTRAC, SHEMTRAC, Hazard identification & Risk Assessments, Legal Compliance Assessments, Construction Regulations and other NOSA or similar training is required. Thorough knowledge of relevant and applicable South African SHEQ legislation is required. Thorough knowledge of ISO 9011, IOS 14001, FSC Chain of Custody and OHSAS 18001 systems is required Computer literacy including SAP is essential
